Smiles Northwest released an infographic to help educate people on how to handle dental emergencies. According to Smiles Northwest, dental emergencies can happen at any time - without warning. Would you know what to do if you or a family member suffered from a broken or knocked out tooth?

To help you be prepared for any potential dental disaster, Smiles Northwest has published an infographic that lists some of the common dental emergencies that people encounter, and what to do about them.

One common dental emergency is a broken tooth. Here is what Smiles Northwest says you should do about a broken tooth:

  • Save any pieces of the tooth you can.
  • Rinse out with warm salt water.
  • Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling around the affected area.
  • Call a dentist right away.

Dr. Alan Montrose says that educating patients and performing enhanced quality treatment are their priorities. "My aim is simply to educate and provide the best dental care for anyone who visits our practice."
