ATLANTA, GA - 06/28/2018 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

There is no denying that Treblemaker, Ragan Whiteside’s fourth studio album, has put her on the map.  After the Billboard Top 10 success of “Early Arrival,” the flautist-singer has hit unprecedented positions on the Smooth Jazz radio charts with her second single, “Corey’s Bop,” grabbing #1 on MediaBase, #2 on Billboard, and #1 on Smooth Jazz Network Top 100.

Ragan has performed with a veritable “who’s who” in Contemporary/Smooth Jazz including Marion Meadows, Walter Beasley, Tom Browne, Chieli Minucci, Kim Waters, Frank McComb, and the late Dave Valentin.

“The playing field has changed and the flute is becoming more widely accepted,” says Whiteside, “Audiences are really embracing variety.”Sax great Walter Beasley says, “She has made the flute an integral part of this format. Huge!”

In contemporary jazz, where there is always a thirst for fresh material, Ragan steps up and delivers, both live and in-studio. “Her tenacity makes her a force to be reckoned with. Mark my words!” said Bob Baldwin of her once, and this tenacity is obvious at every show.

ABOUT RAGAN WHITESIDE

Songwriter, flutist, vocalist, and all-around musical adventurer Ragan Whiteside is a 3-time Top 10 Billboard artist with four successful albums under her belt. A musical prodigy since the age of five, Ragan found her way to the flute after the piano, the violin, and a turn with the drum set. She attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and the prestigious Harid Conservatory, where her sound was honed with the tried-and-true classical training, graduating with a Bachelor of Music Performance degree.

After school ended, Ragan found herself in New York and immersed herself in the world of jazz, funk, and R&B, going on to collaborate and/or perform with contemporary heavyweights such as Marion Meadows, Walter Beasley, Kim Waters, Bob Baldwin, Tom Browne, Chieli Minucci, Frank McComb and more. Since her debut with Class Axe, Ragan honed her arranging and songwriting skills alongside Bob Baldwin and acclaimed producer/arranger Dennis Johnson, and focused on the deeper inner workings of producing and releasing music. Her albums are a showcase of her wide variety of talents, from her sleek and immediately recognizable singing voice to the on-point arrangements and composition. The albums flow along a variety of musical styles, the sounds never parking themselves too long in one genre or another, but blending all in various proportions, so that no aficionado of one genre or another is left wanting. www.raganwhiteside.com
