Columbia, SC—Dan and Dennae Handford, owners of several small businesses in South Carolina, including a group of medical clinics, Vitality Medical Centers, has pledged to provide a $1,000 immediate bonus to each of their full-time employees amid the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

The purpose of this bonus is to help employees pay for added expenses that are adding up, such as extra spending on childcare and added food expense, during this troubling economic uncertainty caused by the coronavirus outbreak. The bonus will be provided immediately on their next pay period.

“Our employees are the lifeblood of our company and we want to make sure they know that we are here to help them in these uncertain times,” said, Dan Handford, owner. “Our company would not be in existence without our dedicated employees who work tirelessly each and every day.”

Vitality Medical Centers employs nearly 50 employees throughout South Carolina. Vitality specializes in treating non-surgical, orthopedic medical conditions with injection-based protocols. The most common conditions treated are arthritic back and knee pain.

The Handfords would also hope that this gesture will encourage other local business owners to issue bonuses to employees to help with the expenses incurred with the coronavirus crisis.
