LAS VEGAS, NV - 03/21/2018 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Event producer, music executive, and founder of The Rite Marketing Group, Emory Marshall, is in the business of helping independent recording artists excel. While working on his 7th Annual Radio Showcase and Reception, hosted by radio personalities Cedric Bailey and Shannon Thomas, he found time to sit down with PCPR CEO, Phyllis Caddell, to discuss his upcoming event on March 23, 2018 at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 33rd Annual Stellar Award weekend.

Q. What made you create the Radio Showcase and Reception?

A. Years ago I realized there was a need to give independent artists a platform for radio exposure. A luxury that was normally reserved for major artists.

Q. What did it take to get this event started?

A. I was in a singing group for years.I was signed to a label that helped me get exposure, and it definitely helped create awareness.I’ve done radio for over 20 years so, when I started seeing that other artists weren’t afforded the opportunity I was given, I knew I needed to provide a platform to help bring exposure to much-deserved talent to help gospel music survive.

Q. What do you look for when booking an artist for the showcase?

A. I look for ministry, sincerity, and a good sound.

Q. What is the process?

A. We try to make the process painless. You send us your music and if it’s a good sound, we will select you. That’s it.Although there are only so many slots—they’re given out on a first come first serve basis.

Q. Your event has grown and now you’re in your seventh year. What changes have you made from the inception to now?

A. This year we’ve added Pay-Per-View.We’ve been hearing for years that people are disappointed that they couldn’t make the show.Pay-Per-View will allow people who cant make it to watch it in the comfort of their home. We’ve also opened up more seating so the general public can attend because this actually started out as an independent industry showcase for radio announcers only. The other element we’ve added is the red carpet. This is the first year we’re doing this and I’m excited about it because it will also be aired live on Pay-Per-View.Also, this is the first year we will have legitimate record labels attending that is actively looking to sign new artists.

Q. What are you looking forward to the most?

A. I’m mostly looking forward to seeing what new artists emerge.

Q. What does it take to put on an event of this magnitude? Do you have sponsors?

A. It takes a lot of manpower, contacts, and sponsors.  As a matter of fact, we have sponsors who support our endeavor each year. Our newest sponsor is iLoveFreedomPads.com and MyFragrancedepot.com.

Q. Is your event free to the public?

A. Yes, it is because the vision is to allow more exposure to the artists—To try to great as many people to see more of the great talent.
