A world traveler was rewarded for documenting her journey with a drone.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - 06/27/2018 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Sandrine Hecq, an Australia-based Vlogger and pilot, recently earned a $1,000 prize in a weekly drone video contest hosted by AirVuz.com.

Hecq’s winning video, “Unique Lodges of the World,” showcased a lodge in one of Vietnam’s national parks. Using a drone and ground camera, Hecq was able to show the surroundings of the Topas Ecolodge, which has been featured by National Geographic.

Each week, the AirVuz curation staff selects five videos as finalists for the contest. Fans have the chance to vote to choose the winner from the five finalists. Hecq’s submission was voted as the top choice as it beat out four other videos to take home the $1,000 award.

Hecq has previously talked about her drone experience as a guest on “The Drone Dish” on AirVuz. As someone whose job allows her to travel, Hecq has explored many countries around the world and often brings her drone and other cameras to capture her adventures.

AirVuz curates all videos uploaded to the website and compiles the best of the best into collection pages. To see more videos of the South Pacific like Hecq’s, for example, visitors to AirVuz.com can view this collection of videos.

The Drone Video of the Week contest follows the success of the inaugural AirVuz Drone Video Awards, which selected the best drone videos and photos of 2017. Voters chose winners in 13 categories from a total of more than 33,000 videos.
