Local Surgeon to Run New York City Marathon to Provide a Dream-Come-True for Local Woman Battling Breast Cancer

Dr. Asaf Yalif, M.D., F.A.C.S, a local, triple board-certified plastic, reconstructive and hand surgeon, has qualified, and will run in the New York City Marathon on November 6th in support of Atlanta’s chapter of The Pink Agenda to provide a Fab-U-Wish for a woman battling breast cancer.  The Pink Agenda is a not-for-profit organization committed to raising money for breast cancer research and care, as well as awareness of the disease among Atlanta’s young professionals.  Dr. Yalif, a long-time runner, who grew up in New Jersey, attended Rutgers University, and completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, founded Atlanta’s Y Plastic Surgery in 2010.  His sub-specialty in breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, revision and reconstruction after cancer surgery) provides him the privilege of being a part of his patients’ journeys to attain or restore a healthy self-image.

Dr. Yalif sees breast cancer patients one day a week in tandem with Dr. Laura Pearson, the Chief of Wellstar North Fulton Hospital’s Breast Care Team. “It’s so gratifying to be a part of appointments where hard news is shared, and be able to work together so that the patient comes out with a plan and hope,” stated Dr. Yalif.  In fact, Dr. Yalif has a personal connection to  breast cancer as his 33 year-old cousin in Israel, is currently battling the disease.

The public is invited to join “Dr. Y’s Team Fab-U-Wish ” by attending one of the Pink Agenda events in support of his run, or giving online at:

All monies that Dr. Yalif raises will be split between funding The Pink Agenda and providing an over-the-top “Fab-U-Wish” to a local woman currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. “Fab-U-Wish” is an initiative founded in 2014 by Giuliana Rancic, breast cancer survivor and E! News anchor.   Dr. Y’s Team Fab-U-Wish will be presented at the Pink Agenda’s October 20th Gala, at The Buckhead Theater, the organization’s largest annual fund-raising event.
