Enrique Maciel-Matos selected as "Top Attorney of the Year" for 2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)!

Enrique A. Maciel-Matos, Attorney for the Fowler Law Firm PC, has been selected as "Top Attorney of the Year" for 2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 7 years of professional experience as a practicing attorney, Enrique has already proven himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the legal field.  Enrique is constantly wowing over his clients and the firm with his positive energy and his remarkable degree of knowledge.  His areas of practice include business immigration, family-based immigration, employment law, and business formation.

Enrique is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and grew up in New York City and Texas. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas, and an honors graduate of the University of Denver with a Masters in Global Trade, Finance and Economic Integration.  Enrique received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law where he wrote for “The Scholar” St. Mary’s Law Review on Minority Issues, Volume 11 Staff Writer and was a member of the National Hispanic Moot Court team and the Jessup Moot Court team.  Enrique has passed the state bars of both Texas and New York and he is fluent in Spanish. While in law school, Enrique wrote the comment Beyond the Shackles and Chains of the Middle Passage: Human Trafficking Unveiled which subsequently was published by The Scholar. 

Enrique has been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the legal profession and is active within his community.  He has received many awards, accolades’ and has been featured publications and magazines. He was selected as Top Lawyer of the Year for 2017 with The Global Who’s Who and the International Association of Top Professionals. He is an active AILA Member, Board Member of the Asociacion de Empresarios Mexicanos, Board Member of Mainsprings Schools, and Board Member of PACT (Partners Against Child Trafficking). He is an emeritus member of Phi Delta Phi, Phi Beta Kappa and National Society of Collegiate Scholars.  Enrique has also been a sought after speaker and has spoken at various conferences both in the United States and abroad on topics ranging from immigration law, international law, and comparative US – Mexico law.

Looking back, Enrique attributes his success to his experience, mentors he has had along the way and staying true to his passion for helping the less fortunate. Enrique generously donates his time to a wide array of local nonprofit associations and legal clinics in his areas of expertise. He particularly enjoys helping investors, entrepreneurs, businesses and international performing artists–an interest stemming from his passion for music. Enrique notes that he enjoys spending his free time in Austin, Texas–the live music capital of the United States–pursuing his hobbies of playing indoor and outdoor soccer, working on his subsequent fictional novels, and photography. For the future, Enrique will continue to work hard, serve and fight for his clients’ rights and continue to seek justice and make a difference in people’s lives.
