LITTLE ROCK, AR - 07/28/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Pharmacology University is an international educational institution which inspires education as a catalyst of the development in the progress of Medical Cannabis.  Our primary function in the State of Arkansas is to educate the general public & professionals about the recently approved Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment known as Issue 6.

As part of our educational mission, we will offer a seminar aimed at pharmacists, lawyers, & the general public to promote the use of this medical alternative in a safe & legal manner while ensuring high quality standards. These seminars will count as continuing education credits for lawyers. In regard to the legal field, certification credits are available for Board Certified Lawyers & Legal Professionals. The Arkansas State Bar has approved six & a half (6.5) credits in CLE continuing education credits.

“After successful Medical Cannabis courses in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, we are very excited about bringing our educational programs to the state of Arkansas,” as stated by Henry Levinski, National Director of Operations at Pharmacology University.

According to the Arkansas Medical Amendment, the qualifying conditions for Medical Cannabis are as follows:

  • Cancer
  • Glaucoma
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Hepatitis C
  • ALS
  • Tourette's Syndrome
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Crohn's Disease
  • Ulcerative Colitis
  • PTSD
  • Severe Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Intractable pain
  • Severe Nausea
  • Seizures

The full health plan of cannabis includes the sixteen serious diseases listed above. Currently, there are 1,004,782 people suffering in the State of Arkansas from just six of these sixteen diseases, or 35% of the total population. If we use the national average for a patient of Medical Cannabis in the United States, which spends $388 a month for 12 months of the year, & multiply that by one million people, medicinal revenues would be a little more than $4.6 billion annually.

Using 100 thousand patients spending $388/month in the 1st year only, dispensaries in Arkansas will receive an average attendance of 3,125 patients per month with an annual expenditure of $4,656. Dispensaries would gain sales of $14,500,000 annually, which would provide the 32 Dispensaries with total sales of $465,600,000 in the first year of the program. In perspective, it would not be difficult to obtain about 30% of profit or $4,350,000 dollars a year per Dispensary. Arkansas would need to grow a minimum of 150,000 pounds annually.

Based on all this information, the Arkansas Department of Health is only permitting 5 wholesale cultivation centers. However, the dispensaries are allowed to grow 50 plants each with a proper license. Based on the average yield of 12 oz. of flower per plant, this would require 200,000 plants per year to achieve the 150,000 pounds required. Therefore, each cultivation center would have to grow 10,000 plants per cultivation cycle. This is an industry that promises to reward Arkansas in its first year with $300 million in sales.

A collective effort is required in what this emerging industry represents, which is a stimulus to the economy with the development of businesses, new jobs & substantial economic benefits for the State’s budget. Knowledge is necessary to assess this issue objectively without bias & using critical thinking. As part of the process, it is also necessary to meet the training & licensing required to be responsibly prepared. Presently, Pharmacology University is working to educate people of all walks of life regarding the medical cannabis industry in the following states and countries: Texas, Arkansas, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and soon to be in South Africa.

We invite you to be part of the first of many seminars we will offer in Arkansas. We will cover topics such as legal aspects, the history of cannabis, chemistry & science of cannabis, the process of oil extraction, licensing & investment, good cultivation practices, regulations & legal aspects, as well as concepts of dispensary & "dispensary technician". This seminar will provide useful & relevant information for professionals, patients, caregivers, families, & community members to understand different aspects of the medical cannabis use.

The seminar will be held on Saturday, August 12th, 2017. We will begin at 10:00 am & conclude at 6:00 pm. It will be located at The Little Rock Marriott, 3 Statehouse Plaza Little Rock, AR 72201
